Unforgettable elegance from Baden – world-class Pinot Noir
A wine experience in a class of its own
Schlossgut Ebringen Biegarten Pinot Noir 2020 is the definition of what modern German quality wine can – and should – be. It balances elegance and complexity, and seduces from the first sniff with delicate notes of red berries and cool forest floor – a true wine lover’s dream.
Fragrance
The wine opens with intense notes of red cherry and wild raspberry. After a short time in the glass, elegant layers of pomegranate, forest floor, white pepper and dried herbs develop. There is also a fine hint of smoke from used barrels, which never overwhelms, but lifts the overall impression.
Taste
In the mouth the wine is silky and elegant with lively acidity and fresh fruit. The delicate notes of cherry, currant and blueberry are carried by a hint of chalky minerality and fine, almost invisible tannins. There is nerve, light bitterness and an incredibly clean finish that invites the next sip.
Origin and production
This Pinot Noir comes from the high, south-facing Biegarten field in Baden. The field's chalky soil and the cool microclimate of the Black Forest provide optimal conditions for the grape. Everything is harvested by hand and gently vinified in used barriques - nothing is left to chance.
Ready now – and in the future
The 2020 vintage is already harmonious and ready to drink, but has the potential to develop greater depth and complexity over the next 3-5 years. Perfect for fine dishes with poultry, mushrooms or hard cheeses – or simply on its own.
